Elizabeth Ayers is the Executive Director of Gift Planning at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a former member of the Board of National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (NACGP) and served as NCPP 2017 Conference Chair. She is also a member of NACGP Leadership Institute and the North Carolina Planned Giving Council where she served on its Board from 2013 through 2016.

Prior to joining UNC in 2008 she worked at The Ohio State University, where she served as Director of Planned Giving for the Medical Center and Associate Director of Planned Giving for the University. She has worked for the Columbus Foundation, served on non-profit boards and committees and was president of Central Ohio Planned Giving Council in 2007.

Ayers has presented on various charitable topics at local and national conferences including NACGP, PPP, Crescendo, NCPGC, AAMC, Wealth Counsel, the North Carolina Community College Fundraisers' state conference, UNC System Conference and AFP North Carolina state conference.

She has practiced law in the areas of estate and charitable planning and civil litigation. She holds a JD from Capital University, M. M. from Ohio University, and a B. M. from Wittenberg University.

John P. Soucy, J.D., is an accomplished executive leader with extensive experience in gift planning, principal gifts, and philanthropic initiatives. As the Senior Director of Gift Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, John brings a proven track record in leading high-performing teams and securing transformative gifts. Prior to joining UNC, John held senior leadership roles at John's Hopkins School of Medicine, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami and Saint Louis University, where he played a key role in a historic $50 million campaign gift. Known for his expertise in gift planning, grateful patient programs, campaign planning, and relationship building, John excels at creating donor-centric strategies and fostering long-lasting partnerships. He holds a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College.

Andrea Jenkins

Andrea Jenkins is Associate Director of Gift Planning at The University of North Carolina At Chapel Hill. Most recently, Andrea served as the Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor of Development at Winston-Salem State University. Over the past decade, Andrea focused on Gift planning and increasing membership for WSSU's Heritage Society. Additionally, provided leadership over several programs including the Annual Fund, Major Gifts, and Advancement Services. Andrea was instrumental in WSSU becoming a NC Gift Planning LLC partner with the UNC System in 2017. Prior to this role, Andrea served as a Major Gifts Officer with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center

Andrea earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, CAP® , a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from High Point University and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Andrea is a former President of the North Carolina Council of Charitable Gift Planners. She's served as a two-time chair of the Major and Planned Gifts Committee for the UNC System's Advancement Symposium. In her community involvement, Andrea has served as a longtime committee member and former chair of the Community Philanthropy Builders and Black Philanthropy Initiative of the Winston-Salem Foundation.

Tom Mika is the Assistant Director of Gift Planning at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining UNC, Tom served a variety of nonprofit organizations in the greater Washington, DC region including the National Park Foundation, Georgetown University, and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Originally from upstate New York, Tom received his B.M. from Syracuse University, and M.M. from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.

Hailing from Asheville, North Carolina, Ben received his B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill in 2016.

Hannah originates from North Carolina and is a lifelong Tar Heel. She received her B.A. from Drew University and Paralegal Certificate from Duke University.
